Who says the weather outside is frightful?

I love snow. Everything about it. The color, the smell, the taste, the way that it makes every single branch, bush, stone, rooftop, and lawn look like a painted picture. Like God has just dumped a dusting of powder all over the city. Well, recently, we were BLESSED by quite an abundance! It could not have happened at a better time of year either. What fun we had as a family playing games, watching Christmas movies, building snowmen, watching our Pugs try to walk in it...here are a few pictures of our fun.

Adult Fun!

So who doesn't enjoy Jack Johnson? His music truly soothes my soul, and relaxes me. A group of us had bought tickets and made a day out of it...well sorta.
Emilie and I waited in line (I cannot say stood due to the fact that we did sit, and eat, and drink, and eat) for almost 5 hours in the RAIN to ensure that our seats would be spectacular. While hovering under the one umbrella that we had brought, we compared whose pants were the wettest, talked about life, and determined that together, we would be very capable homeless people.

Bored out of our minds, and possibly a bit crazy in the head due to the lack of dry clothing, we made friends with the people in front of us and the people behind us. Which is a definite must at a concert.

A little later the group all joined us in line and as the gates opened Emilie ran to the front of the crowd, tarp in hand, and scored an amazing spot in the muddy grass!
After running into not only friends but family too, we enjoyed dinner and a few drinks and people watched before the big show. Jack was amazing and so was the goofing around and time away from the kids.

And, the biggest blessing of all was that as soon as we were able to find our seats for the show, the rain and clouds cleared and the sunshine came out!

High School

Justine officially starts her freshman year at Parkrose High School this Tuesday! She is taking all honors classes, and will be learning German. Volleyball and Softball will also consume a lot of her time. Luke and I are having a bit of a hard time remembering like it was just yesterday that our baby girl joined us, and now she is a Freshman!
